Senhive and SkeyDrone join forces with Proximus for drone detection solution

Our resident and partner companies Senhive and Skeydrone have announced a strategic partnership with proximus. Together, they are launching a drone detection solution to address the increasing challenge posed by unauthorized drones, which threaten the security of critical infrastructure sites.

Growing demand for drone detection solutions

With rapid technological advancements, drone usage across various sectors is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. However, unauthorized drone operations pose serious risks to organizations and facilities ranging from industrial enterprises to airports, prisons, data centers, and sports stadiums. Recognizing the importance and potential implications of this issue, organizations can benefit from a comprehensive drone detection solution that proactively identifies and mitigates aerial risks.

This pressing need has driven Proximus, Senhive and SkeyDrone to collaborate on bringing an advanced solution to the market. Proximus will contribute its infrastructure, enabling Senhive to install drone detection sensors at strategic locations using Proximus’ telecom masts. This approach will allow for the gradual expansion of the drone detection network’s coverage. Additionally, Proximus NXT will play a key role in commercializing the solution, while SkeyDrone will handle the software and service components.

Real-time monitoring and comprehensive risk assessment

The comprehensive solution provides real-time air traffic monitoring, displays the location of both drones and their operators, and issues alerts when intruders are detected. It also facilitates visual analyses and seamlessly integrates with existing UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) systems to distinguish between authorized and unauthorized drone flights.

“Alongside cyber threats, drones present a growing security risk to organizations, and we expect this trend to continue in the coming years. At Proximus, we aim to contribute to a sustainable and secure digital society. This partnership with Senhive and SkeyDrone aligns perfectly with that ambition, enabling us to offer our Enterprise clients comprehensive and intelligent security solutions.”
Renaud Tilmans, Enterprise Telco Services & Ops Lead, Proximus
Thomas Petracca, CEO of Senhive

Leveraging infrastructure and data for optimal protection

Since its inception in 2019, Senhive has been driven by a vision of creating a national solution that expands coverage to combat drone threats while helping clients optimize their investments. Collaborating with Proximus allows Senhive to leverage an extensive mast infrastructure for optimal hardware placement. Additionally, SkeyDrone’s extensive data on drone authorization provides clients with detailed insights, enabling precise assessment of drone threats.

“This partnership with Proximus and SkeyDrone is a crucial step toward setting new standards in drone security. Our goal is to equip governments and organizations with a robust, efficient, and proactive solution to safeguard local airspace from potential threats.”
Hendrik-Jan Van Der Gucht, Managing Director, SkeyDrone

With this collaboration, Proximus, Senhive and SkeyDrone aim to set new benchmarks in drone security, providing a robust solution for governments and organizations to protect airspace against potential threats.
