Citymesh 5G Sense Launch @ DronePort

In short

Citymesh, DronePort, and the South-West Limburg Emergency Response Zone cordially invite various stakeholders on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at DronePort in Sint-Truiden, for the official press presentation of Citymesh’s Safety Drone Shield.

For the first time in Belgium, a first responder drone is permanently stationed at an active airport, fully integrated with emergency services. The system is now fully operational and marks a significant step forward in the safe collaboration between manned and unmanned aviation.

The drone is remotely operated from one of Citymesh’s three Remote Operation Centers (located in Hasselt, Oostkamp, and Marche-en-Famenne), and can be deployed within 90 seconds of an emergency call, streaming live footage directly to the control room. This enables firefighters and other first responders to arrive on scene faster and with better situational awareness.

During this press event, attendees will receive an exclusive demonstration of the technology, insights from the involved partners, and the opportunity for interviews. Mayors from the municipalities within the South-West Limburg Emergency Response Zone have also been invited to witness this key milestone.

Attendance at this press event is free of charge, but registration is required. Please register in advance via the from below.
