Aerodrome Commander
Location: Brustem Airport / DronePort

Job description
As Aerodrome Commander, you are responsible for supervising and coordinating all airport operations. You ensure the safety and efficiency of air traffic control, operational procedures, and communication with pilots and staff.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervising operational activities at the airport.
- Ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinating drone takeoff and landing procedures.
- Communicating with air traffic control and other relevant authorities.
- Handling emergencies and developing emergency response plans.
- Managing airport personnel and fostering effective teamwork.
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of airport policies.
Requirements
- Meet the requirements for the position of Airfield Commander as determined in Circular GDF-04 of the Directorate-General for Aviation, including:
- Currently hold or have previously held a private pilot license issued by an EU Member State.
- Have at least 100 hours of flight time as pilot in command.
- Have committed no aviation regulation infringements in the last five years.
- Hold a limited radiotelephone certificate for an aircraft station, issued in accordance with the conditions set by the Directorate-General for Aviation.
- Demonstrable experience in airport management or air traffic control.
- Essential knowledge of drone laws and regulations.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of the latest developments in drone technology is a plus.
- Able to cope with stress and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
