DronePort initiates consultation group with the members of Brustem Industry Park

Recentely, DronePort hosted the kick-off meeting for the Brustem Industry Park (BIP) Consultation Group. Organized by DronePort in conjunction with the City of Sint-Truiden, this event welcomed business leaders and owners from the Brustem Business Park for an evening of networking, strategic discussions and visionary planning.

Fostering a collaborative environment

The primary goal of the BIP Consultation Group is to create a platform for businesses within Brustem Industry Park to engage with one another, uncover commercial and operational synergies and foster a collaborative environment. This initiative is designed to enhance communication and cooperation among the diverse businesses within the park, ultimately driving growth and innovation.

The evening began with a warm welcome and a brief tour of DronePort, allowing attendees to acquaint themselves with the facilities and the pioneering work being carried out at our campus. This was followed by a presentation outlining DronePort’s future vision, showcasing its role as a hub for technological advancements and business development.

Looking forward

The BIP Consultation Group kick-off marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards greater inter-business cooperation and innovation. The City of Sint-Truiden and DronePort are committed to supporting this group and facilitating ongoing dialogue and collaboration among the businesses at Brustem Industry Park. The kick-off meeting was a resounding success, setting the stage for a vibrant and collaborative future at Brustem Industry Park. As we move forward, we anticipate seeing the fruits of this collaboration manifest in new projects, partnerships and a thriving business community that benefits all stakeholders involved.

The American non-profit organization Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) announced that it had chosen Belgium’s DronePort as the global base for its commercial spin-off Aidoptation. Today, the first autonomous racing car arrived from the United States at DronePort in Sint-Truiden. This marks the official start of developing a wide range of commercial solutions based on the cutting-edge technology that aims to lead to a smarter and safer future. More specifically, Aidoptation will focus in Sint-Truiden on autonomous systems for various types of vehicles, as well as on a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from industrial automation and logistics to agriculture, entertainment, and e-sports.

ADLC secures €2M in seed funding and lands at DronePort – Brustem Airport

ADLC, a pioneering drone logistics company, has successfully raised €2.08 million in seed funding to accelerate its growth and further expand its services in the maritime and offshore industry. The investment round was led by Galactic Beacon Ventures (GBV), alongside co-lead investor LRM, Port of Antwerp-Bruges and NXT II, with the support of PwC – Next Level as financial/fundraising advisors and Van Olmen & Wynant as legal advisors. Moreover, we are delighted to welcome ADLC as a new resident on our DronePort business campus in Sint-Truiden, the innovation hub for autonomous mobility on the ground and in the air.
