Fighters Against Cancer

In short

On Sunday, May 26, pilots from the Brustem Pilot Association (BPA) are joining forces with Fighters Against Cancer to offer an unforgettable experience to young patients. From DronePort in Sint-Truiden, the pilots will provide free flights to 14 young patients. TUKI vzw is responsible for allocating the seats and coordinating with the patients and their families.

This initiative was inspired by a chance encounter with Fighters Against Cancer last year, leading to the idea of organizing free introductory flights for young patients. This year marks the second edition of this heartwarming event. For aviation enthusiasts, the participating aircraft include Marchetti SF260 (N330DG), C-152 (OOANO), Robin Petit Prince (OO-RJC), Heli Robin (OO-HCP), two Tecnam’s (OO-DNG, OO-MTR), Pilatus P-3 (OO-RDS, OO-PIL, D-EPCI), Cirrus SR22 (N200EU), Decathlon (D-EXLI), and a Piper Cherokee.

DronePort is proud to serve as the home base for these pilots. To support this wonderful initiative, pilots will receive a discount on the fuel they use during the flights, and we are excited to treat the young patients to some delicious snacks after their flight.

Additionally, at 18:00, there will be a special formation flight with three Pilatus aircraft. Seats for this flight have been raffled off to several main sponsors of Fighters Against Cancer.

Join us at DronePort for a day filled with joy, hope, and the magic of flight as we create unforgettable memories for these brave young patients.
