Fresh Oxygen for Growth
The Limburg-based company Airobot enables faster, more accurate and safer roof measurement through its online cloud-based application AiroCollect. The software converts drone images into 3D models that roofers and solar panel installers use for measurements, edits and calculations for quotations. The software is built specifically for roofers and installers and focuses on simplicity, making it accessible for companies of all sizes, from small teams to large organisations. AiroCollect is also gaining traction internationally, with customers in the Netherlands, France, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. To accelerate this European growth, JK Invest and the Limburg investment company LRM are providing additional capital.
AiroCollect provides precise insight into distances, heights and surfaces that are essential for a project. “Whether you are inspecting a roof, installing solar panels or need an update of your construction site, our application lets you measure everything faster, more accurately and much more safely,” says Cédric Cops, who became CEO of Airobot in June 2025. The company is based at the DronePort campus in Sint-Truiden.
The application is multilingual, cloud-based and compatible with any drone equipped with GPS or GPS-RTK. “By using a drone, you avoid unsafe ladder situations and you gain an enormous amount of time. A measurement performed with a drone is on average ten times faster,” Cédric explains. “Once you upload the images into AiroCollect, you receive a digital model of your project with 99 percent accuracy. You can also import this measurement report into your existing business processes for a seamless digital workflow.”
Quickly Calculating Distances and Surfaces
Roofers and contractors use the application to calculate distances and surfaces. This includes quantities of insulation, roof tiles or other materials needed, and the tools required for the job. In 2024 the tool was expanded with features supporting solar panel installers. Additionally, both the website and the application recently received an important upgrade to further improve usability.
European Market
The combination of speed, safety, accuracy and an attractive price makes AiroCollect increasingly popular beyond Belgium’s borders. The company already serves customers in the Netherlands, France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Poland.
Cops states: “Our application is available in multiple languages and built in a way that allows us to scale very quickly and easily. In the coming years we aim to serve even more European customers. To accelerate this international expansion, both JK Invest and the Limburg investment company LRM are increasing their capital investment. Both investors had previously invested in Airobot in 2018 and 2023. This additional investment confirms their belief in the technology and in further European commercialisation.”
Stijn Claes, investment manager at LRM, confirms this: “On the one hand we see strong validation from various customer segments for AiroCollect. On the other hand the application is now fully ready to scale internationally. The company is generating solid revenue in Belgium and has already launched successfully in several other countries. Drone-related activities align perfectly with LRM’s investment strategy and we see significant potential for AiroCollect. Thanks to our DronePort campus in Sint-Truiden, AiroCollect also has a strategically located base from which to conquer Europe.”
Kris Van den Bergh, Founding Partner and Managing Director at JK Invest, adds: “JK Invest is delighted to continue investing in Airobot. We consider their AiroCollect technology to be state-of-the-art and crucial for the roofing and solar industries. The company is entering a phase where it is ready for international scale-up. The strong and visionary core team has shown they have the capacity to support this ambitious growth. We have full confidence in AiroCollect’s potential to lead the digitalisation of this sector within the EU and beyond, and we look forward to supporting this expansion.”
